Academics: Departments

Engineering is the application of scientific and technical knowledge to solve human problems. Engineers use imagination, judgment and reasoning to apply science, technology, mathematics and practical experience. The result is the design, production and operation of useful objects or processes. All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has allotted 480 seats to RVSCET for undergraduate courses.

The major objective of this institution is to plan and implement a programme of education in Engineering and allied Sciences, to promote research, to disseminate knowledge and to foster co-operation and exchange of ideas between academic community and industrial organisations and to develop entrepreneurship skills among the students. It strives to achieve academic excellence along with harmonious development of personality of the students.

Here four disciplines are offered for B. Tech Degree :

* Computer Science & Engineering  –  120 seats
The department is fully equipped with latest software that caters to the needs of our students & also aid in research and development programs. The latest application development software training is also imparted with an Internet browsing centre that enriches the technology fronts in computing, engineering, communication sectors, and information technology to the students along with faculty on all working days.

* Electrical & Electronics Engineering  –  120 seats
The Electrical and Electronics Engineering department was established in 2003, the labs are fully established including, Electrical Machines, Electrical Control systems lab, Electrical Measurements lab, Network theory lab and Simulation lab.

* Electronics & Communication Engineering  –  120 seats
The Department has a state-of-the-art Microwave Engineering Laboratory in addition to well-equipped laboratories in the areas of Electron Devices, Communication, Electronic Instrumentation, and Integrated Circuits. Facilities to work in the fields of Fibre Optics and Digital Signal Processing are also available. A separate computing facility has been established to carry out project work and design jobs taken up by the Department.

* Mechanical Engineering  –  120 seats
One of the founding departments established in 2003 by the RVSCET, the Mechanical Engineering Department is a model department at the RVSCET, with qualified, dedicated faculty and state-of-the-art facilities. The department is well equipped with various state of art laboratories which includes fully computerized CAD lab with latest software.

AICTE has also accorded approval for Post Graduate courses in MCA in 2009, with intake capacity of 60 every year, and M. Tech. in 2011 with intake capacity of 18 in Computer Science & Engineering.
